The first rumors are starting to emerge about the route of the next Giro d'Italia, which will take place next year from May 10 to June 1. The Grande Partenza from Albania seems to be confirmed with two or three stages in the country before returning to Italian soil.

The first Italian stages should take place in the center of the country with several towns such as Urbino and Gubbio that have applied to host a stage finish. The second week, however, will feature Friuli Venezia Giulia with Gorizia which in 2025 will also be the European Capital of Culture. A border crossing into Slovenia is possible.

According to the Corriere delle Alpi, a stage in the Dolomites is also possible with the finish in Cortina d'Ampezzo to launch the 2026 Winter Olympics. Also in Veneto, a finish in Vicenza is possible and a time trial in the Treviso area with Montebelluna and Nervesa della Battaglia. The last week in the Alps will instead see Piedmont with a passage in Castellania Coppi in the province of Alessandria and a start in Borgomanero.

And finally the interest of Sestriere and Valle d'Aosta as reported by L'Eco del Chisone for the penultimate stage (perhaps decisive) with also the presence of Colle delle Finestre. Grand finale confirmed in Rome.
