about bridget

Bridget has been an avid cyclist all of her life, enjoying the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Though life took another turn in February 2023 when Bridget was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Whilst the prognosis was excellent, the 11 months of intense treatment put her life into a 'Raw Roller Coaster' of grief forcing a  complete change of lifestyle & perspective.

Bridget's pure grit and determination allowed her to work her life around treatments, continue to exercise and specifically ride her bike. She lowered the intensity, focussing on rest and recovery whilst always aiming to 'live her best life' in her usual fearless way.

Her aim was to return to riding 100km rides over the Australian summer and surpassed this by riding 133km with 2150m of ascent by the end of February. Striving for her next goal, she will ride the Snowy's Classic in the Australian Snowy Mountains which is 170km / 2830m.

Then its time... time to achieve her DREAM .... follow and ride the same roads as the Pro's at the Giro d' Italia whilst raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) who have been instrumental in her ability to get through the biggest challenge in her life.

When Bridget approached us about her dream, we said YES before she even finished asking us and instantaneously pledged both our time and to ALL PROFITS from the tour to the NBCF.

In addition to our donation, Bridget has set up her own fundrasing page with the NBCF to collect more funds before and during the ride in May.

Bridget's quest, Bridget's courage, Bridget's determination and the ability to light up anyone's day is something which we admire and love so much about her. Each and everyone of us know a person who has endured Breast Cancer and foundations such as the NBCF provide support that is so needed. it can happen to any of us, no one is immune.

The price of Euro 6500 is based on Twin Accomodation, usage of a Pinarello Bike,  all Meals (including wine at dinner), Full Support with a Tour Guide and Van who are with you during all rides.

If you would like to add some flexibility to the pricing, such as:

• paying for your own meals
• bringing your own bike
• riding less days

16/05/2024 Pick-up Milan, transfer to Bormio (5 star hotel for 3 nights), Briefings, Bike Fit and Ride in valley
17/05/2024 Flexible - Depending on which passes are open, you can ride Passo Gavia, Passo Mortirolo or the Lakes of Cancano
18/05/2024 As above , plenty of flexibility!
19/05/2024 Transferring or riding to Tirano, riding Passo Bernina & cheering the GIRO PELOTON on the Forcola di Livigno (once road clears, ride into Livigno for 2 nights)
20/05/2024 Livigno - Rest Day for Pros - Rest Day for Guests (option to ride) - the PRO's will be in town, hence plenty of activity
21/05/2024 Ride from Livigno over Passo Eira, Passo Foscagno, Passo Stelvio where the group will remain at the peak to cheer the GIRO PELOTON on Stelvio !. (afternoon transfer to Fiemme Valley, Dolomites)
22/05/2024 Ride Passo San Pellegrino, Passo Valles, descending to view the GIRO PELETON pass on the Passo Rolle ascent.
23/05/2024 Ride Passo Rolle , Passo Gobbera and Passo Brocon and view the GIRO STAGE START  in Fiera di Primiero (transfer to Asolo)
24/05/2024 Ride the Strada del Prosecco and enjoy the afternoon Wine Tasting in a Prosecco vineyard.
25/05/2024 Ride Asolo to the peak of Monte Grappa and watch the deciding GIRO STAGE FINISH!
26/05/2024 End of Tour, transfer to Venice Marco Polo Airport (or Venice Mestre Train Station)

ESSENTIAL TOUR INFORMATION & INCLUSIONS

• Minimum: 6 guests
• Maximum: 7 guests
• Start Date: 16 May 2024
• End Date: 26 May 2024
• Accommodation: 10 nights in Single/Double/Twin room accommodation.
• Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
• Dinner: we  provide the freedom of a-la-carte to all our guests
• Drinks at Dinner: water, soft drinks and 1/2 bottle of wine per person
• Staff: 2 ( Tour Guide and Driver/Support)
  
• Support Vans: our Vans are equipped to carry 9 passengers, all bikes and luggage, providing true peace of mind in the instance of bad weather.
• Spares, Snacks & Drinks: the van will be equipped with spares, tools, pump, water, soft drinks, electrolytes, fruit, muesli bars, fresh bread, cold meats, vegetables etc.
• Transfers: private transfers from Milan Malpensa Airport and to Venice Marco Polo Airport
• Gifts: a choice from Castelli and Pinarello Gifts
• Laundry: our staff will take care of all your laundry

You can choose to bring your own, or make the most of one of our beautiful fleet of Pinarello's (including Insurance)
