Australia's highest paved road, Charlotte Pass, is located in the Snowy Mountains on Mount Kosciuszko (Australia's Highest Mountain). Welcome to the backdrop to the country's Snowy Mountains scheme, this is tough rugged country, hence why the home of the first ever L'Etape Australia!
This tour is over four days, giving you a nice long weekend on the bike hitting out on some great riding covering: Lake Crackenback, Lake Eucumbene, Charlotte Pass (Highest Paved Road in Australia), Tom Groggin to Dead Horse Gap (Hardest Climb in Australia) and Thredbo.
Day 1: Arrival and Check-in to Hotel Resort
For those who arrive before 4pm, you can enjoy our Introductory ride from the resort up the majestic Thredbo Valley to the high point of Dead Horse Gap.
The ride undulates up with a sting in the tail in the final pinch to the gap.
Distance: 40km return & approx. 1000m of climbing.
Day 2: Australia's Highest Paved Road - Charlotte Pass
One of the classic rides, not only of this region but of the country.
Departing from the hotel, we descend to the outskirts of Jindabyne before climbing via the Perisher Valley Ski Resort to Charlotte Pass.
At the top of Australia's highest sealed road, we enjoy views across the iconic Snowy River to Mount Kosciuszko (Australia's Highest Mountain)
Distance: 110km return & approx. 2400mof climbing.
Day 3: The Snowy Mountains Scheme
Departing from the resort, this ride will give you the unique experience of riding across the dam walls of the two largest lakes in the famous Snowy Hydro Electricity Scheme which employed hundreds of Italian Immigrants in the 50's and 60's. Today's ride takes us to the across the Jindabyne Dam wall and along undulating mountain farmland to the Eucumbene Dam where we can descend onto the wall, returning via the same route to the resort. Riders can choose to depart on their bikes from the resort or take a transfer to Jindabyne.

Day 4: Tom Groggin - Australia's Toughest Climb
Departing from the resort, we head into the Thredbo Valley and beyond Thredbo Village to the valley high point at Dead Horse Gap.
From here we descend down to the mighty Murray River (and the state of Victoria's border) to Tom Groggin.
It is here that we then challenge the genuine Hors’ category climb .
Distance: 80km & approx. 2200m of climbing.

- Accommodation: Single or Double/Twin Room Accommodation in 4/5 Star Hotels
- Total Nights in Hotel: 4/5
- Meals: all meals included
- Dinner: all meals are a-la-carte in fine restaurants
- Drinks at Dinner: water, soft drinks and 1/2 bottle of wine per person
- Tour Guide/s: for every 6-7 riding guests
- Support Van/s & Driver/s: for every 6-7 riding guests, carrying sprare tubes, tools, pump etc.
- Snacks & Drinks: the van will be equipped with water, soft drinks, electrolytes, fruit, muesli bars, fresh bread, cold meats, vegetables etc.
